Coach Cody Walker is entering his 20th year as a high school coach and first year as leader of the Hill Country baseball program. His coaching journey has included impactful stops at Harker Heights High School, Navasota High School, Bastrop High School, and Lago Vista High School. Throughout his career, Coach Walker has remained committed to developing student-athletes through structure, purpose, and personal growth both on and off the field.

His coaching philosophy is centered on energy, intent, and preparation. He believes that consistent, high-level practice prepares players to handle game-speed situations with confidence. By building a competitive and disciplined environment in practice, Coach Walker strives to set his players up for success.

Coach Walker is inspired daily by his wife, Kerri, who works as an Elementary Principal. Her love for kids, relentless effort, and everyday commitment to consistency and care for her students serve as a model for his own approach to coaching. Her passion and integrity continue to shape the way he leads young men through the game of baseball.

Coach Walker and Kerri have two sons: Luke (16) and Jake (13), who keep them both grounded, motivated, and constantly on the move.

His favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 9:24:

“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.”

The message of intentional effort, discipline, and purpose in that verse guides how he coaches every day — challenging his players to pursue excellence, give their best, and compete with heart.

Coach Walker is honored to lead the Knights baseball program and is committed to building a team rooted in faith, hard work, and brotherhood.
