John Ford

As the Head Coach of the Varsity Soccer team since 2020, I have had the privilege of leading our athletes to remarkable achievements, including being crowned the 2025 Area Champions and District Champions. My coaching journey has been filled with memorable highlights, such as reaching the Regional Finals in 2024 and 2022, and being an Area Finalist in 2023 and 2021. My commitment to excellence is unwavering, and I strive to inspire my players to push their limits and achieve their best.

Before taking the helm of the Varsity team, I spent several years developing young talent as the Head Coach at Lonestar Soccer Academy (2016-2019) for U10 and U11 boys, and at Pride Soccer Club (2010-2015) coaching U14 and U16 teams. My experience also includes being a player-coach for the Peterson AFB Men's Team from 2010 to 2013, where we became the 2011 Colorado All Military Champions. Likewise, I led the Fort Carson Men's Team to victory as champions in both 2008 and 2009 at the Colorado All Military Championships.

My coaching career began with Challenger Sports from 2004 to 2007, where I coached players ranging from U7 to U16. I also have a strong playing background, having competed at the collegiate level at Johnson County Community College, where our team finished 5th in the National Championships in Tyler, Texas in 2004.

Throughout my career, I have been inspired by the resilience and determination of my players. I believe in fostering a positive and supportive environment where athletes can thrive and grow, both on and off the field. My coaching philosophy centers around teamwork, discipline, and the importance of hard work.

One of my favorite quotes that encapsulates my coaching approach is: "Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful."

I look forward to continuing to develop our athletes and guiding them toward success in their soccer journey!

I draw my inspiration from the remarkable class of '92 Manchester United youth players who rose through the ranks to achieve an extraordinary treble in 1999, claiming victory in the English Premier League, the FA Cup, and the Champions League. Their dedication, teamwork, and perseverance serve as a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished through hard work and unity.

In addition to this inspiration, I hold dear the verse from Ephesians 4:29: "Let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." This scripture emphasizes the significance of mindful and constructive communication, encouraging us to uplift and edify one another. It serves as a guiding principle in my life and coaching, reminding me to foster a positive and supportive environment for my players.
